Plus Thunderbird Dance Night in Woodcote on 12 October
Learn American Jive, often described as Rock ‘n’ Roll dancing. It was super-cool in the age of Elvis, it had a huge revival later in the 20th century and just keeps going strong because it’s such fun. We will teach you how to stay cool when the rhythm is hot and how to be a flash cat when the music is really jumpin'.
Weekly on Thursday evenings from 7.45 pm near central Reading at St Andrews Hall, Albert Road, RG4 7PL.
No previous experience needed - just come ready to have bags of fun. Bring a partner or come alone - it's up to you.
These Jive classes offer 2 levels, catering for absolute beginners and improvers, with the second class being the more stretching one.
Each week starts with a beginners Level 1 class from 7.45 to 8.30 pm.
New starters are able to book a 3-week beginners course for just £15 - BOOK HERE
Standard Prices: £8 each cash on the night each week which includes both classes, when you are ready.
Each week starts with the very basic content for beginners and revision which means that you can miss weeks and catch-up later.
Level 2 classes for more experienced dancers are from 8.45 to 10.00 including lots of practice time. We spend some time adding some intermediate ideas to stretch those who have been attending for a while.
We will patiently prepare you to enjoy social dancing. There are no exams or tests, just coaching and encouragement in a friendly atmosphere. You will be introduced to the essentials of your chosen dance within four weeks and then you will gradually grow in confidence and competence.
These classes are held at St Andrew's Church Hall, Albert Rd, Caversham, Reading RG4 7PL.
Located at the junction with Harrogate Rd which leads to the A4074 Woodcote Rd to Wallingford.
This is a spacious hall with a wooden floor and on-site parking.
